The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the recent airstrike by Israel that hit the World Central Kitchen convoy, resulting in the tragic loss of 7 aid workers from different nationalities.
The targeting of aid workers is a gross violation of international humanitarian law and perpetrators must be held accountable. The Maldives calls on the international community to take decisive action to ensure the protection and safety of humanitarian workers in conflict zones and to facilitate unhindered humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The Government and the people of the Maldives extend deepest condolences to the World Central Kitchen and the families of the victims during this time of grief and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
