15th August 2012, Male'; Speaking at a Press Conference to brief the media, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ms Dunya Maumoon condemned the threats and intimidation tactics used by President Nasheed and his MDP supporters.Ms Maumoon noted that the Government of Maldives was committed to the resolution of political differences through peaceful dialogue and the democratic boulevard and institutions available in the country.
14 August 2012, Male';The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon todaty briefed the media regarding the participation of President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan in the Extraordinary OIC Summit currently being convened in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The Summit has been organized by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in response to the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque, King Abdulla Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Heads of States/ Government of the OIC countries are invited for the Summit which is aimed at restoring the relationship among Islamic nations and enhance Islamic solidarity and to address the challenges facing the Islamic Ummah. During the Summit, discussions will take place on the situation and challenges in many countries of the Muslim World and the need to intensify efforts to address and overcome these challenges.
12th August 2012, Male'; President Dr Mohamed Waheed has departed to Saudi Arabia, to attend the fourth extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Conference, on the invitation of King Abdulla Bin Abdul Azeez. During this trip, the President will be accompanied by First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain.
05 Aug 2012 / Male;Government assured its commitment to strengthen its laws and policies to address the issue of human trafficking in the country.In an interview to Dhitv'sProgramme State Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. DunyaMaumoon has stated that the government duly notes the issue of human trafficking in the country and stated that the matter needs to be resolved soon. While addressing on the issue state Minister highlighted that counter trafficking issues are impeded by the lack of understanding of the issue and also the lack of legal structure in the country. Maldives currently does not have an anti-human trafficking law in the country, however, the constitution prohibits forced labor and slavery in the country, and the Employment Act prohibits most forms of forced labor. Government has been getting assistance from the Australia's Attorney General's Department in drafting its laws on anti-human trafficking, the draft which is already been completed and needs translation into Dhivehi. Government hopes to submit before the parliament draft bill on anti-human trafficking before the end of this year.
3 August 2012, New York; The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution today expressing concern at the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in Syria. The Resolution was tabled by Saudi Arabia, and the Maldives co-sponsored and voted in favour of it.

24 July 2012, Male';Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, H. E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon has condemned the killing of Lance Corporal Adam Haleem of the Maldives Police Service. The late Lance Corporal Adam Haleem was stabbed while reporting for duty at Kaashidhoo Police Station in Male' Atoll Kaashidhoo.
17 July 2012, Male'; The visiting high level delegation from Turkmenistan has held official talks with the Government of the Maldives. During the talks held yesterday in Kurumba Maldives Resort special importance was given to Political and economical situation of both Turkmenistan and the Maldives. They also discussed about cooperating in the areas of Tourism, fisheries and agriculture, environment, aviation, energy and housing.

13 July 2012The Maldives today continued to present its initial periodic report under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights at the UN in Geneva. Yesterday, the Maldives delegation, led by the Home Minister, Dr. Jameel, presented the Maldives' report to the members of the Human Rights Committee, the UN body charged with ensuring compliance with the Covenant. He noted that the Maldives has made significant progress in implementing the rights int he ICCPR since it was ratified and since the adoption of the country's new Constitution. The delegation then aswered questions put by the Committee.
10 July 2012, Male'; Maldives delegation led by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, Minister of Home Affairs and H.E Dunya Maumoon, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs will be travelling to Geneva to attend the Maldives treaty reporting event under International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

5th July 2012, Male'; The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon, today expressed concern that MDP protests outside the premises being used by the Commission of National Inquiry (CoNI) are a blatant attempt to influence the proceedings. She also noted that, through its actions, the MDP is acting contrary to the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group's statement of 20th June which emphasized that "no action should be taken by any party or authority that would negatively affect the functioning of the Commission of National Inquiry".
