The 47th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Maldives has been marked with a flag raising ceremony in London.
At the ceremony held at the High Commission of Maldives, Acting High Commissioner Ahmed Shiaan hoisted the National Flag of the Maldives.
Acting High Commissioner Shiaan then read out an Independence Day statement on behalf of His Excellency Dr Mohammed Waheed, President of the Republic of Maldives.
The ceremony was attended by High Commission staff.
