17 September 2012, Male';The new Ambassador of Australia to the Maldives, H. E. Ms. Robyn Mudie has met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, H. E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon. At the meeting held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Minister congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment and discussed ways to further strengthen the existing relations between the two countries. State Minister Dunya also noted with appreciation the assistance from Australia to the socio economic development of the Maldives especially to human resource development and climate change.

15th September 2012, Male'; The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdul Samad Abdullah has said that ‘the Government of Maldives rejects and condemns the burning of the flag of the United States of America by a group of protesters in Malé yesterday'. The Foreign Minister also said that ‘burning of another country's flag is not, and has never been, a Maldivian way of showing our anger and protest. While the Government of Maldives understands the feelings and emotions of Maldivians about the activities of certain individuals attempting to defame Prophet Muhammad, the Government had called on the people to show restrain and calmness in dealing with the issue'.
13 September 2012, Male'; The Government of Maldives condemned the attacks on the US Embassy in Cairo and the US Consulate in Benghazi in the strongest terms and pledged Maldives full support to the Government and the people of the United States.
12th September 2012, Male'; During a call on His Excellency Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs by His Excellency Mr. Robert O. Blake, the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs of the United States of America, His Excellency Blake urged all parties to work together to resolve issues through dialogue. He stated that the Maldives has political leaders who are capable and committed to moving forward with the democratic process and they need to build on the progress achieved. Mr Robert Blake also noted the Government's support and cooperation to the Commission of National Inquiry and stressed the importance of moving forward and implementing the findings of CoNI. His Excellency Mr. Blake assured that the United States Government will work with the Maldives to strengthen democracy.

2nd September 2012, Male'; The Government of Maldives has called upon President Nasheed to respect the CoNI findings and to abide by the rule of law.Speaking at a Press Conference the Defence Minister, Home Minister and Attorney General noted the unequivocal and clear findings of the CoNI which have noted that the transfer of power was legal and followed the constitution.They noted there was no room for questioning the CoNI and that all members of the Commission, except President Nasheed's were in agreement with the findings.They also pointed out that the UN and Commonwealth observers had been impressed with the professionalism of the work and the intergrity and impartiality with which the members had carried out their duties.
President Waheed has today met with His Excellency Mr Wen Jiabao, Priemer of China.At the meeting, President Waheed expressed his appreciation to Premier Mr Wen Jiabao for the long standing close relations between the Maldives andChina. He further added that as the two countries celebrate the 40thanniversary of diplomatic relations, he is confident that the relationsbetween the two countries will continue to grow from strength to strength.

30th August 2012, Male'; The Government of Maldives has expressed its disappointment at the decision of former President Mohamed Nasheed's representative on the Commission of National Inquiry (CoNI), Mr Ahmed Saeed to resign from the Commission. Furthermore, the Government of Maldives noted with regret that Mr Saeed's resignation the day before the Commission is due to submit its final report, is to undermine the successful conclusion of the CoNI process.
