25 February 2014, Male';Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Ms. Dunya Maumoon has conveyed her felicitations to the Government of H E President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom for his achievements within the first 100days in office. The Minister congratulated the President for his leadership in guiding the Maldives Foreign Service and highlighted the accomplishments in foreign policy thus far, including his bold efforts towards strengthening ties and expanding areas of cooperation with key regional partners. Highlights in this regard include:-

23 February 2014, Male'; Delegations from the Government of Maldives and the State of Palestine, has held offical talks at the Ministry of Foriegn Affairs, today. These discussions form part of working program of the Palestine Foreign Minister's offical visit to the Maldives. The delegation of the Maldives was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E Ms Dunya Maumoon and the delegation of the State of Palestine was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine, H.E Dr. Riyad al-Malki.

Mr. Salman Khurshid paid an official visit to Maldives on 20 February 2014, coinciding with his participation in the 35th Session of the SAARC Council of Ministers, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Ms. Dunya Maumoon.

20 February 2014,Maldives;The Thirty-Fifth Session of the SAARC Council of Ministers begins in the Maldives today. As part of its working program, the Council will review the progress of the implementation of decisions taken at the Seventeenth SAARC Summit, the Thirty Forth Session of the Council of Ministers, and the report on the Fortieth Session of the Standing Committee. The Council will also consider the appointment of the next Secretary-General of SAARC. The report on the Thirty Fifth Session is to be adopted at its conclusion.

20 February 2014, Male'; Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Ms Dunya Maumoon yesterday presided over the 35thSession of the SAARC Council of Ministers held at Bandos island Resort. As current chairperson of SAARC, the Maldives successfully led the proceedings of the Session which also was attended by the Foreign and External Affairs Ministers of SAARC.

19 February 2014, Male'; The official visit of Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, H.E. Mr. Salman Khurshid, to the Maldives has been rescheduled. Minister Salman Khurshid is now expected to arrive in Maldives tonight to attend the 35th session of the SAARC Council of Minister's Meeting. The official visit will now take place after the conclusion of the Ministerial meeting.

18 February 2014, Maldives; The Sixth Special Session of the Standing Committeebegins today in Bandos Island Resort, the Maldives.

17 February 2014, Male'; The Forty-fifth Session of the SAARC Programming Committee begins in the Maldives today. As part of its working program, the Committee is scheduled to review the status of the implementation of recommendations provided at the Forty-Fourth Session, in December 2013. Further, the Committee will consider a Report of the Working Group on Energy and a Report of the Technical Committee on Environment and Forestry. The Committee will also consider financial and administrative matters relating to the SAARC's Secretariat, and the SAARC's calendar of activities for the year ahead. The report on the Forty Fifth Session is to be adopted at its conclusion.

6 February 2014, Male; Ambassador at large His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Hameed is attending the 14th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit organized by "The Energy and Resources Institute" as the Special Envoy of the President. The Summit convened today at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, India and will continue until 8 February 2014. The summit is a platform to discuss important issues of sustainability and relevant policy interventions to achieve sustainable development goals. This year's theme is "Attaining Energy, Water and Food Security for all".
