18February 2014, Maldives; The Forty Fifth Session of the Programming Committee successfully concluded yesterday.Items stated in the Committee's report , as part of theworks undertakenincludes, inter alia,review of the status of the implementation ofthe recommendation of the Forty Forth Session of Programming Committee; consideration of the Report of the Seventh Meeting of the Working Group on Energy; consideration of the Report of the Technical Committee on Environment and Forestry;consideration of the compilation of all rules, regulations, orders and decisions pertaining to the Administrative and Financial Matters and Provisions of the Secretariat; consideration of the SAARC's Calendar and the recommendations and comments forwarded by the Committee in respect of the foregoing matters.
Chairman of the Committee Mr. Hassan Shifau briefed the local media immediately following the conclusion of the session.
Also, later in the evening, Chairman of the Forty Fifth Session of the Programming Committee H E Mr Hassan Shifau hosted a dinner in honor of the delegates of the SAARC's Member states.
Concurrently, on the sidelines of the Programming Committee the Foreign Secretary of the Republic of India H.E.S.M.T. Sujatha Singh paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Secretary of the Maldives, Dr. Ali Mohamed Naseer, at Funamaa Lounge of Bandos Island Resort. The discussions between the counterparts mainly focused on the upcoming Thirty Fifth Session of the Council of Ministers, and the scheduled official visit of the Minister External Affairs of India.
