Statement by the Government of Maldives on the attack towards Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport

The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the aerial attack towards Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the evening of 10 February 2021.

Such acts of terrorism targeted towards civilian infrastructure clearly imperils the security and safety of civilians and travelers. Continuation of such attacks towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, hinders the ongoing peace efforts being made by the concerned parties and the international community to resolve the conflicts in the region.

The Government of Maldives reaffirms its solidarity with the Government and brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reiterates its steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
