Minister of Foreign Affairs Leads Maldivian Delegation to 2026 World Government Summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has departed on an official visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to lead the Maldivian delegation to the 2026 World Government Summit, being held from 3 to 5 February 2026 in Dubai.

The World Governments Summit is an annual global event held under the patronage of His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. This year, the Summit is being held under the theme 'Shaping Future Governments.' It serves as a vital platform for fostering collaboration, strengthening engagement and accelerating meaning partnerships on a global scale.

This year’s delegation also includes senior officials from various government institutions, reflecting the Maldives’ continued commitment to engaging in global dialogue on governance, innovation, and sustainable development.

The Maldives’ participation in the Summit reflects the close bonds of friendship and the collaborative spirit between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates, grounded in shared values, mutual respect, and a commitment to collective progress. The Maldives deeply appreciates this enduring partnership and looks forward to further strengthening bilateral cooperation through productive engagement and dialogue at the Summit.

The Maldives’ delegation to the World Governments Summit includes the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Husain Shareef, Deputy Ambassador, Hassaan Waheed and Assistant Director, Aishath Leen Fazeeh of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
