Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer sent a message of felicitations to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kamikawa Yoko, on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito, I wish to extend warm greetings and sincere good wishes to Your Excellency and the friendly people of Japan.
As we are gearing towards the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Japan, it is fitting to reflect on the far-reaching Japanese assistance visible across the Maldivian archipelago. Under the able leadership of President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the government is committed to expanding our bilateral portfolio to bring tangible benefits to both our peoples.
I would like to take this opportunity to recall the recent high-level visit led by His Excellency Komura Masahiro, Special Envoy of His Excellency Kishida Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, which underscores Japan’s readiness to further enhancing the relations between our two countries.
I remain confident that the traditional bond of friendship between our two peoples and our countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
