The Government of the Republic of Maldives strongly condemns the heinous attack in a mosque in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, during Friday prayers on 6 February 2026, which resulted in the tragic loss of many innocent lives and numerous others injured.
The Government of the Republic of Maldives expresses its deepest condolences to the Government and brotherly people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and extends heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families of the victims. We wish a swift and full recovery to those injured in this act of violence.
The Maldives reiterates its firm rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Such cowardly acts, particularly those targeting places of worship, are an assault on humanity, religion, and shared moral values.
The Maldives stands in solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time and reaffirms its support for international efforts to combat terrorism.
