The Government of the Republic of Maldives strongly condemns the Israeli occupation’s decision to convert lands in the occupied West Bank into so-called “state property.” The Maldives considers this decision a serious violation of international law and an extension of illegal settlement policies that undermine the rights of the Palestinian people.
Such unilateral measures constitute a clear violation of international law and further threaten the prospects for a just and lasting peace. The Maldives calls on the international community to take urgent and concrete measures to halt these illegal practices by Israel and ensure accountability, and uphold international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The Republic of Maldives reaffirms its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination, and its firm commitment to the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
