Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer sends Independence Day greetings to H.E Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on the auspicious occasion of the Independence Day of India

On the occasion of the Independence Day of India, Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Moosa Zameer extended greetings to Minister of External Affairs of India His Excellency Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Government and the people of the Republic of India. In a letter sent to Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister Zameer acknowledged India's remarkable achievements since its independence, emphasizing India's role as a global leader in democracy and development.

Reflecting on the official three-day visit of Minister Dr. Jaishankar to the Maldives from 9 - 11 August 2024, Minister Zameer highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two countries, noted that the discussions held during the visit laid a foundation for realising key initiatives, further strengthening the bond between the two nations. The growing partnership reaffirms the mutual commitment to deepening strategic ties and fostering greater cooperation.

"I am confident that our enduring friendship will continue to guide us as we work towards the prosperity of our peoples, promoting peace, stability, and constructive cooperation in the region," Minister Zameer remarked in the letter.

Concluding the letter, Minister Zameer conveyed his good wishes and expressed hope for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of India.
