The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, concluded his successful official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today. The visit, undertaken at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE marks another milestone in the strong and enduring relationship between the Maldives and the UAE.
During the visit, Minister Dr. Khaleel engaged in high-level discussions with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs focusing on further enhancing bilateral ties and identifying new areas of cooperation. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to advancing mutual interests for the benefit of both countries.
Minister Dr. Khaleel also met with senior UAE government officials to explore potential opportunities in sectors such as tourism, fisheries, renewable energy, connectivity and infrastructure development. Additionally, Minister Dr. Khaleel met with key investors of the UAE. The discussions underscored the Maldives’ commitment to building strategic partnerships with UAE-based businesses.
Minister Dr. Khaleel expressed gratitude to the UAE for its longstanding support and generous contributions to the Maldives’ development journey. This visit strengthened the enduring partnership between the Maldives and the UAE, founded on shared values and mutual aspirations for economic development.
Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by Ambassador-at-Large Abdullah Hameed and Joint Secretary Mariyam Reesha from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
