The newly appointed High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to the Maldives, His Excellency Peter Munyiri Maina, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel today, following the Presentation of Credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held earlier this morning at the President’s Office.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr. Khaleel congratulated the High Commissioner on his appointment and exchanged views on enhancing Maldives–Kenya relations noting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Minister also expressed confidence that the High Commissioner’s tenure will contribute to further strengthening the existing bilateral relationship.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing cooperation on shared priorities and exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial collaboration.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by Secretary Dr. Hala Hameed, Ambassador at Large, Dr. Mohamed Fahmy, Joint Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Senior Under Secretary Fathimath Naeema, and Deputy Desk Officer Malsa Mohamed.
