The Maldives and Hungary sign Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation within the Framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme for the period 2025-2027

The Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of Hungary signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation within the Framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme for the years 2025 – 2027, today in New York, at the sidelines of the high-level week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. 

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Maldives by Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, and on behalf of the Government of Hungary by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

This Memorandum of Understanding will provide 25 scholarships for Maldivian students to pursue undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level studies at Hungarian universities between 2025 and 2027.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme established by the Government of Hungary, aims to attract international students and foster personal and professional connections with Hungary, while offering access to high-quality education in the heart of Europe.
