The first round of political-bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania was held today.
The political-bilateral consultations serve as a vital platform for both countries to engage on important issues of mutual interest, spanning bilateral, regional, and multilateral concerns.
During the consultations, both sides explore avenues to deepen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation across key sectors, including education, culture, environment and climate change.
Special emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration in the tourism industry, with focus on improving connectivity and fostering people-to-people exchanges.
The consultations also provided an opportunity to address pressing international and regional issues, with both sides reaffirming commitment to closer cooperation in multilateral forums, in line with shared values and priorities.
The first round of political-bilateral consultations was co-chaired by Ambassador Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary Bilateral at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and Ambassador Traian Laurențiu Hristea - Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
