His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed hosted a state banquet in honour of His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, who is currently undertaking a state visit to the Maldives.
In attendance at the state banquet were His Excellency Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef; the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, His Excellency Abdul Raheem Abdulla; Special Envoy of the President former President His Excellency Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan and His Excellency Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, together with senior officials of the Government of the Maldives and distinguished members of the visiting Indian delegation.
This historic visit is Prime Minister Modi’s first trip to the Maldives since assuming his third term in office. It also coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and India.
