The newly appointed Non-Resident High Commissioner, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Masood Imad, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dr. Patrick Herminie, President of the Republic of Seychelles, at a ceremony held this morning at the State House in Victoria.
Following the ceremony, High Commissioner Imad conveyed warm greetings and sincere felicitations from His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to President Dr. Patrick Herminie, as well as to the Government and the people of Seychelles. High Commissioner Imad expressed his sincere appreciation for the honour accorded to him in presenting his Letter of Credence and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Government of Seychelles to further enhance bilateral relations. He underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, fisheries, and tourism.
President Herminie reaffirmed the Government of Seychelles’ commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and cordial relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to deepen during High Commissioner Imad’s tenure.
Following the ceremony, High Commissioner Imad also paid courtesy calls on the Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Sebastien Pillay.
High Commissioner Masood Imad currently serves as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and will concurrently serve as Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Seychelles, with residence in Colombo.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Seychelles, Barry Faure and Ms. Lindy Ernesta, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora. High Commissioner Imad was accompanied by Mr. Ismail Mamdhooh, Minister-Counsellor of the High Commission of Maldives in Sri Lanka and Mr. Lambert Bonne, Honorary Consul of Maldives in Seychelles.
