Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan calls on Minister Dr. Khaleel

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Khaleel today, following the Presentation of his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held yesterday at the President’s Office.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr. Khaleel congratulated Ambassador on his appointment and conveyed best wishes for a successful tenure. Minister expressed confidence that his appointment would pave the way to further strengthening the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Tajikistan. 

Minister Dr. Khaleel and Ambassador exchanged views on enhancing the friendly bilateral relations between Maldives and Tajikistan, which is based on common values and mutual respect. Both Minister and Ambassador also highlighted the close cooperation between Maldives and Tajikistan on issues of mutual concern at the multilateral fora, especially the close cooperation through the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Both Minister and Ambassador reiterated their commitment to develop a strong and mutually beneficial partnerships both bilaterally and at multilateral forums. 

Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by State Minister Sheryna Abdul Samad, Additional Secretary Farzana Zahir and Assistant Director Khadeeja Nizwee Rasheed.
