The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Maldives, Leo Tito L. Ausan Jr., paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Moosa Zameer today, following the Presentation of Credentials to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning.
During the meeting held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Zameer congratulated Ambassador Ausan on his appointment and emphasized on enhancing the long-standing bilateral relations, as the Maldives and the Philippines commemorates its fiftieth year of formal diplomatic ties this year.
Minister Zameer and Ambassador Ausan exchanged views on reviewing the entire range of bilateral engagements to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. In this connection, they expressed keen interest to formalize the cooperation framework agreements including the signing of Political Consultations MoU at the earliest.
Both Minister Zameer and Ambassador Ausan reiterated their commitment to develop a strong and mutually beneficial partnerships both bilaterally and at multilateral forums.
Minister Zameer was accompanied by Secretary Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed, Additional Secretary Farzana Zahir and Assistant Director Khadheejath Nizwee Rasheed.
