The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia Her Excellency Rath Many, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel today, following the Presentation of his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held yesterday at the President’s Office.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr. Khaleel congratulated Ambassador on her appointment and conveyed best wishes for a successful tenure. Minister expressed hope that her appointment would strengthen the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Cambodia.
Minister Dr Khaleel and Ambassador exchanged views on implementing the existing bilateral cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, especially in the fields of tourism and economic cooperation. Both Minister and Ambassador also reiterated their commitment to continue working closely on issues of mutual benefit at the multilateral fora.
Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by State Minister Mohamed Shaheeb, Additional Secretary Farzana Zahir and Assistant Director Khadeejath Nizwee Rasheed.
