Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of congratulations to the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Jalil Abbas Jilani.
The Message reads as follows:

“It is my pleasure to extend sincere congratulations and warmest wishes on Your Excellency’s appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 26 July 1966, the Maldives' and Pakistan's relationship has grown stronger and stronger. I am confident that, under your able leadership, we will be able to strengthen existing relations and explore new avenues for bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your continued wellbeing, peace and prosperity for Pakistan, and the assurances of my highest consideration”.
