Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel sent a message of felicitations to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Takeshi Iwaya, on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito, I wish to extend warm greetings and sincere good wishes to Your Excellency and the friendly people of Japan.
As Japan celebrated the 70th anniversary of its Official Development Assistance (ODA) last year, Maldives and its people fondly remember Japan's generosity that resonates throughout our archipelago. This enduring friendship, built on mutual respect and shared values, transcends diplomatic boundaries and is fortified by deep-rooted people-to-people ties. Throughout our post-independence journey, Japan has been unmatched in the sheer magnitude of support that it has offered to the Maldives.
I remain confident that under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, the enduring bonds of friendship between our two peoples and our countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
