Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel paid a courtesy call on the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Honourable Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.
During the meeting held at Presidential Secretariat, Minister Dr. Khaleel conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Dr. Muizzu and the people of Maldives.
Minister Dr. Khaleel highlighted the key aspects of the Maldives - Sri Lanka relations and expressed keen interest of the Government of Maldives to explore new avenues to collaborate further to strengthen the close bonds of friendship between the two countries.
On behalf of President Dr. Muizzu and people of Maldives, Minister Khaleel expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Government and people of Sri Lanka for the kind support and assistance rendered to the developmental efforts of Maldives at all times.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by Fathimath Inaya, Foreign Secretary of Maldives, Masood Imad, High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka, Aminath Abdulla Didi, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives.
