Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Honourable Dr. Harini Amarasuriya today.
Minister Dr. Khaleel congratulated Prime Minister for the successful presidential and parliamentary elections and conveyed greetings from President Dr. Muizzu and people of Maldives.
During the meeting, Minister expressed profound gratitude for the Sri Lanka’s unwavering support for the Maldives’ development and progress over the decades especially in the field of education and human resource development and hosting large community of Maldivians in Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Sri Lanka to work together to strengthen the existing close cooperation between the two countries in multiple areas.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, High Commissioner of Maldives Masood Imad, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aminath Abdulla Didi, Deputy High Commissioner Fathimath Ghina, and Second Secretary Aminath Warudha.
