High Commissioner of Bangladesh pays farewell call on the Foreign Minister
High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh His Excellency Mohammed Nazmul Hassan made a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Abdulla Shahid this afternoon at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the farewell call, Foreign Minister Shahid conveyed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the High Commissioner for his strong commitment and contribution to revive and strengthen the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two countries as well as for the kind and generous support Bangladesh has extended towards the Maldives over the past years.
High Commissioner reciprocated by stating that his tenure in the Maldives has been memorable and rewarding, having witnessed the exchange of a number of high level visits between the two countries as well as the conclusion of key agreements on cooperation particularly in the area of trade, health and youth and sports.
Foreign Minister and High Commissioner during their discussions reflected on the recent successful State Visit by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the Maldives in December 2021 and the State Visit of President of Maldives to Bangladesh in March 2021, which opened up new horizons in the bilateral chapter between the two countries.
High Commissioner expressed his sentiments, for the support and cooperation extended to him during his tenure in the Maldives, and expressed his sincere hope that the relationship between the two countries will enhance in the future.
Foreign Minister wished High Commissioner the best in his future endeavors.
Foreign Minister Shahid was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed and Joint Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
