Foreign Minister Shahid meets with the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Bisera
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, met with the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Bisera Turković, this afternoon.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Shahid welcomed Minister Turković to the Maldives and reviewed the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. Both the Ministers further explored avenues to enhance cooperation between the two countries especially in the areas of trade, education and tourism. Minister Shahid and Minister Turković also reiterated their commitment to intensify the engagement between the two countries in the multilateral spectrum.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed, Assistant Director Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim and Desk Officer Aminath Shaistha Hamdhan Zaki.
Minister Turković’s visit to the Maldives marks the highest-level visit from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Maldives since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on 27 January 1997. Minister Turković also made a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih earlier today.
