14 April 2014, Tokyo; Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Ms. DunyaMaumoon has arrived in Tokyo, accompanying President of Maldives, H.E Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on official Visit to Japan
President Yameen was received at the Airport by H.E. Mr. Nobuhito Hobo, Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives and H.E. Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of the Maldives to Japan.
Today, President Yameen will be meeting with the Maldivian Community in Japan.
During his visit, President Yameen would meet with His Majesty Emperor Akihito, Prime Minister ShinzÅ Abe, and other senior Ministers of the Japanese Government, and hold discussions in further improving and expanding the excellent relations between the Maldives and Japan.
The President would also meet with business leaders and potential investors with a view of further expanding economic opportunities for Maldives in Japan.
The President's visit to Japan is on the invitation of Prime Minister ShinzÅ Abe.
