The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel sends message of felicitations to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the occasion of the 95th National Day of the Kingdom.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On the joyous occasion of the 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I have the honour to extend warm greetings and sincere felicitations to Your Highness, the Government and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.
The Maldives greatly values its long-standing bonds of friendship with the Kingdom, firmly rooted in our shared Islamic faith, culture and values. We remain deeply grateful for the generous assistance accorded by the Kingdom towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives, which has contributed immensely to the well-being of our people. A landmark in this regard was reached this year with the inauguration of the expanded Velana International Airport, a milestone achievement made possible through the significant support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This historic achievement will stand as a testament to our enduring friendship and to the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to the progress of the Maldives.
The Maldives stands in solidarity with the Kingdom in its principled and unwavering support for the Palestinian people. The plight of our brothers and sisters in Gaza is a matter of profound concern, and we value the Kingdom’s consistent efforts to advocate for their legitimate rights and for a just and lasting peace based on the two-State solution. These efforts also highlight Saudi Arabia’s vital role as a leader of the Islamic Ummah, and its enduring commitment to promoting unity, justice and peace across the region and the wider Muslim world.
May I extend again my best wishes and prayers for Your Highness’s good health and well-being and continued progress and prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people.
