The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Dr. Abdulla Khaleel sends a message of condolence to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, following the fire incident at Gul Plaza Mall in Karachi.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“The news of the devastating fire at Gul Plaza in the city of Karachi has brought profound shock and sadness. This tragedy, in the heart of Pakistan's industrial hub, is a source of great grief as we learn of the mounting loss of life, injuries and widespread damage.
I take this opportunity to extend my deepest sympathies for the victims and their families, and the fraternal people of Pakistan. My thoughts are with the families who are enduring the agony of losing loved ones or waiting for news of the missing. May Almighty Allah grant eternal peace to the departed souls and bestow strength and comfort to their bereaved families. I also pray for the swift and complete recovery of those who have been injured.
The bravery shown by the firefighters and rescue teams, who continue to carry out their duties under extremely perilous conditions, is truly commendable. During this difficult time of grief, the Maldives stands in firm solidarity with our Pakistani brothers and sisters.
Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
