Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel presented exequatur to the new Honorary Consul of France in the Maldives, Ms. Fathimath Zuraig Mohamed, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today.
Following the presentation, Minister Dr. Khaleel congratulated Ms. Zuraig on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to effectively discharge the responsibilities of the position. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and friendly relations between the Maldives and France, particularly in key sectors such as tourism and trade.
The Honorary Consul conveyed her sincere appreciation to the Foreign Minister and stated her commitment to diligently serve French nationals residing in and visiting the Maldives. She also expressed her readiness to work closely with Maldivian authorities to promote and deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Honorary Consuls are appointed by their respective governments to provide consular assistance and promote bilateral relations in the host country. With the presentation of the exequatur, Ms. Fathimath Zuraig Mohamed formally assumes her duties as the Honorary Consul of France in the Maldives.
