Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel participated in and addressed a high-level panel discussion at the Fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, attended the Fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum today, following the invitation extended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan. 

Minister Dr. Khaleel participated in the high-level panel discussion on “Geostrategic Dynamics in the Asia-Pacific”, alongside Dr. Atsushi Sunami, President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and Professor Jagannath Panda, Head of the Stockholm Centre for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, which is being hosted in collaboration with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan.

Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel shared insights into the evolving geopolitical landscape in the region and addressed key global issues like climate change that have profound implications on Small Island Developing States. He also underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in tackling emerging global threats and noted the critical role of regional and multilateral organizations in mitigating tensions. 

In his remarks, Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel also emphasized the strategic significance of the Maldives' geographic position, noting that the security and prosperity of the nation are deeply interconnected with the broader stability of the region.
