Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel departs to Egypt on an Official Visit

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, departed today to the Arab Republic of Egypt on an official visit, at the invitation of His Excellency Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel will hold official discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and review the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Egypt, grounded in mutual respect and shared Islamic heritage. The two Ministers will also explore new avenues for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including education, health, trade, and cultural exchange.

In addition, Minister Dr. Khaleel is scheduled to meet with senior Egyptian Government officials to discuss ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation and expand partnerships across priority sectors. This visit underscores the Maldives’ strong commitment to strengthening relations with Egypt, and to working together in advancing shared interests at both the bilateral and multilateral levels.

Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel is accompanied by Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary, and Ms. Khadeeja Najeeha, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
