Chinese Ambassador pays a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Maldives, Her Excellency Ms. Wang Lixin paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Khaleel this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Khaleel conveyed his sincere gratitude and appreciation of the Government of Maldives, for the immense efforts made by the Ambassador to strengthen bilateral ties between Maldives and China, and the generous support she had extended to the Maldives during her ambassadorial tenure.

Ambassador Wang Lixin thanked the Government of Maldives for the support and cooperation extended during her term and expressed positive sentiments and reiterated commitment to continue working closely with the Government of Maldives in strengthening China-Maldives relationship.

At the meeting, Foreign Minister Khaleel and Ambassador Wang highlighted on key achievements and engagements for the past one year and discussed the implementation and progress of ongoing projects between the two countries, as well as future cooperation in areas of mutual importance. Ambassador Wang Lixin presented her Credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on 6 September 2021, and is departing the Maldives after more than three years as Ambassador of China.

Foreign Minister Khaleel mentioned that while he wishes the Ambassador good fortune and success in all her future endeavors, she will always be welcome to visit the country again as a friend of the Maldives.
