Bhutanese Ambassador pays farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Ambassador of Bhutan to the Maldives, Rinchen Kuentsyl paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel. 

During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning, Foreign Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the successful completion of his tenure as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Bhutan to Maldives residing in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Minister Dr. Khaleel also expressed appreciation for the commitment and contribution of Ambassador in strengthening the existing ties of friendship between Maldives and Bhutan. 

Ambassador Kuentsyl thanked the Government of Maldives for the support and cooperation extended during his tenure and highlighted the common concerns and challenges faced by both countries as a small state. Ambassador Kuentsyl expressed hope that both countries will continue to collaborate in areas of mutual interest such as environmental conservation and climate adaptation and mitigation. 

Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Shahyb, Additional Secretary Ms Aminath Abdulla Didi, and Assistant Director Mr. Ibrahim Naushad.
