Ambassador of Maldives to the European Union, Geela Ali, presents her Letters of Credence to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Maldives to the European Union, Geela Ali, presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The ceremony was held at the Headquarters of the European Commission, Berlaymont building in Brussels, this evening.

During the brief interaction that followed the ceremony, Ambassador Geela conveyed greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives. She also reiterated the interest of the Government of Maldives to intensify engagements and strengthen relations with the European Union. 

President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, congratulated Ambassador Geela for her appointment and re-affirmed the positive and growing momentum in the Maldives-EU relations.
