The Issue of Palestine

The Maldives strongly condemns illegal acts of Israel in the Occupied territories, that hinders efforts towards a lasting solution to the conflict, as well as peace and stability in the region.

The Maldives reaffirms the commitment and unconditional support to the Palestinian people in their pursuit to attain their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination.

The Maldives believes that a lasting and sustainable solution to the conflict, can only be possible through the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital (the two State solution).
