Biography

Ms. Aminath Abdulla Didi holds a Masters in International Relations from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and a Bachelors in Business Management from Bangalore University, India. At a young age, she joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she started out as a Desk Officer Trainee in Consular and Legal Division in April of 2002. Since then she has worked in various Departments/Divisions in the Ministry and has earned a steady stream of promotions through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She worked for a year as a Second Secretary (Political Affairs), at the High Commission of Maldives in New Delhi during the years 2007 and 2008 and also worked in the Global Affairs Department where she took charge in Nov 2011. From December 2013 to March 2017, Ms. Didi worked as the First Secretary at the Consulate of Maldives in Thiruvananthapuram. During this time she also worked as Deputy Director from July 2013 till October 2015, and as a Director in Ministry of Foreign Affairs from October 2015 till April 2017. Ms. Didi was appointed as Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 7 April 2019. She resigned from the post on 19 December 2019 and was appointed as Additional Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 19 December 2019. She filled the post of Consul General in Consulate General of Maldives in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from 20 December 2019 to 29 April 2023. She returned to Ministry on 29 April 2023.
