The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the drone attack aimed towards King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 21 February 2022, resulting in injuries to several civilians.
The recent escalation of such attacks targeting civilian areas and economic infrastructure exhibits the elevated threat to the security and stability of the region, and undermines the efforts by the concerned parties and the international community to find peaceful solutions to the conflict.
The Government of Maldives reaffirms its solidarity with the Government and the fraternal people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reiterates its commitment to stand against terrorism in all forms and manifestations.
