The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the launch of a booby-trapped UAV aimed towards Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 10 February 2022, resulting in injuries to several civilians.
These deliberate and systematic acts of terrorism, targeting civilian areas and infrastructure threatens the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and exhibits the elevated threat to the stability of the region.
The Government of Maldives reaffirms its solidarity with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reiterates its steadfast commitment to work closely with the parties concerned and the international community to find peaceful solutions to conflicts in the region and fight against global terrorism.
