Statement by the Government of Maldives condemning the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Government of the Maldives strongly condemns the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by officials of the Israeli government, including two Ministers and members of the Knesset. This is a serious violation of the sanctity of one of the holiest sites of the Muslim Ummah.

The Maldives is deeply concerned about these repeated incursions by Israel into the Al Aqsa Mosque that threaten the hopes for achieving peace and stability in the region.

The Government and the people of the Maldives stands in solidarity with the brotherly people of Palestine and reiterates its call on the international community to work together to find a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict.
