04th September 2011, Male'; The Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Naseem met with the visiting Chinese Cultural Troupe, visiting the Maldives on their ‘Cultural China - Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Performance' tour. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Her Excellency Ms. Hawla Ahmed Didi and Additional Secretary at the Ministry Dr. Hussain Niyaz also attended the call.
Minister Naseem thanked the troupe for enriching cultural experiences of Maldivians with their performance and extended hope to for further cultural exchanges between China and the Maldives.
The Cultural Troupe thanked the Minister for the kind hospitality extended by the Government and welcomed the renewed opportunities for friendship and cultural exchange between China and the Maldives. During the call on the Minister, the Troupe gifted the Minister with various cultural memorabilia and informed the Minister that they would be returning to the Maldives to perform during the upcoming SAARC Summit to be held in November 2011.
The visit of the cultural troupe was organized by Government of Maldives, in conjunction with the China Literature and Art Foundation, China's Ministry of Culture, Arts Service Center, the Maldives National Center for Arts, the China Social Welfare Education Foundation, the National School Than Ggnetic Engineering Office Bearing, China Youth Art Troupe and the China International Friendly Exchange and Promotion Association.
The Cultural Troupe performed in Male' at Olympus Theatre on 1st September 2011.
