Ms Alice Akunga, Representative of UNICEF to the Maldives paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dunya today.
During the meeting, Minster Dunya expressed appreciation to UNICEF for its valuable contribution towards the development of the country. Discussions also ensued with regard to UNICEF Country programme document (CPD) for the period 2016-2020.
The Country Programme Document of UNICEF for the period 2016-2020 will aim to reduce inequalities and achieve the universal realization of the rights of children especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Reflective of the national development priorities of the Maldives, the next cycle of UNICEF’s CPD will contribute to the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2016-2020.
