Minister congratulated the Consul on his appointment and discussed ways to strengthen the consular services provided for the Maldivian community in Mumbai
Mr Bobby Mohanty, the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Maldives in Mumbai has called on His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry, Minister congratulated the Honorary Consul on his appointment and discussed ways to strengthen the consular services provided for the Maldivian community in Mumbai. Minister also highlighted on the important role that Honorary Consul can play in enhancing Maldivian interest in Mumbai, especially in promoting Maldivian tourism. In this regard, Minister highlighted on measures taken by the government to boost the economy and overcome the various challenges faced due to Covid-19 pandemic.
At the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by, Foreign Secretary His Excellency Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed, High Commissioner of Maldives in India His Excellency Dr. Husain Niyaaz and Ms. Umaira Mohamed, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
