The newly appointed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Maldives calls on the Minister of Foreign Affairs
The newly appointed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Maldives, Sheikh Rahma bin Abdulrahman bin Rahma Al Shamsi paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, Minister Shahid welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated him on presenting his credentials as the Ambassador of the UAE to the Maldives.
Minister also expressed hope that the long-standing, close relations between the Maldives and the UAE will be further strengthened during the Ambassador’s term. Minister Shahid and the UAE Ambassador discussed prospects for further diversifying the partnership between the Maldives and the UAE. The Ambassador assured the commitment of the Government of UAE to advance the shared priorities and interests with the Maldives.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel; Secretary, Bilateral, Dr. Hala Hameed; Joint Secretary, Mariyam Reesha; Director, Ahmed Fazeel; and Assistant Director, Mohamed Shahudhan Shaheem.
