Minister congratulated His Excellency Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan, on his appointment as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Maldives
The newly appointed High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Maldives, His Excellency Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan called on Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, today. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shortly after the High Commissioner presented his letter of credence to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid congratulated His Excellency Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan, on his appointment as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Maldives. Foreign Minister Shahid expressed hope that excellent bilateral ties and cooperation between Maldives and Bangladesh would be further strengthened during High Commissioner Nazmul Hassan’s tenure. Minister Shahid thanked High Commissioner Nazmul Hassan for the assistance provided by Bangladesh Government to the Government of Maldives in addressing the challenges of COVID-19 on multiple fronts.
Minister Shahid and High Commissioner Nazmul Hassan also discussed the existing collaboration between the two countries, in particular on addressing the plight of Bangladeshi expatriates in the Maldives, through the regularization and voluntary repatriation programme of the Maldivian Government. The High Commissioner also assured his commitment to working closely with the Government of Maldives to enhance collaboration in areas that are of mutual benefit to both countries.
