The Maldives and Azerbaijan signs MoU on increasing cooperation between the two foreign ministries
The Maldives and Azerbaijan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on increasing cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries. The MoU was signed today at a ceremony held on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) that is presently ongoing in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The MoU aims to enhance and expand bilateral relations and cooperation between the Maldives and Azerbaijan, and also facilitate the holding of regular consultations between the two countries at all levels on issues of mutual interest. It also aims to strengthen cooperation between the two sides on the training of diplomats.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Government of Maldives, and His Excellency Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan.
