State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Member of the House of Representatives concludes Official Visit to the Maldives
State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Member of the House of Representatives, Takei Shunsuke has concluded his Official Visit to the Maldives.
State Minister Takei paid courtesy calls on the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology, Aminath Shauna, and the Minister of Defence, Uza. Mariya Ahmed Didi. He also signed an Exchange of Notes between the two countries relating to a project on waste management, and attended the ceremony to unveil the Seawall Tetrapod Monument.
Discussions were held between the two sides on an extensive number of issues of common interest, signifying the close nature of the bilateral relationship between Maldives and Japan.
This visit is taking place during the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Maldives and Japan. Maldives and Japan established diplomatic relations on 14 November 1967.
State Minister Takei was seen-off at the Velana International Airport by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amin Javed Faizal.
