29 February 2012, Male';Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H. E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon has departed to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the 19th Session of the UN Human Rights Council.
During the visit the State Minister will address the Human Rights Council session and also meet key partners of the Maldives. The objective of her visit is to emphasize the importance given to human rights by President Dr. Waheed's Government of National Unity. In these meetings the State Minister will hold discussions on ways to strengthen the human rights framework of the country and strengthening partnerships with Maldives' international stakeholders in this regard.
The Human Rights Council began on 27th of February and will run for three weeks.
