21st June 2012, Male';The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon met with American Ambassador Her Excellency Patricia Butenis, German Ambassador, His Excellency Jens Ploettner, Canadian High Commissioner, His Excellency Bruce Levy and European Union Charge de Affaires, Ms. Terhi Lehtinen and briefed them about the political situation in the Maldives.
During the individual meetings held at the respective missions, State Minister Dunya touched on a broad range of issues.The State Minister emphasized the progress of the Maldives Commission of National Inquiry established by the President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Waheed to examine the facts and circumstances surrounding the transfer of power on 7 February 2012. Speaking at the Stakeholders, State Minister Ms. Dunya also focused on the progress made by the Unity Government, promotion of human rights, media freedom and strengthening the judiciary of Maldives.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon was accompanied by Dr Hussain Niyaz, Deputy High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka.
